The so-called Government of the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Pristina extended today the deadline for the French-Andorran consortium to secure the funding of projects foreseen by the concession contract on investment in Brezovica ski centre until May 30, 2016. This contract was concluded against the will of the Government of Serbia and in contradiction to local and international legal norms.
Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government Ljubomir Marić strongly objected to this decision of the so-called Government in Pristina at today's Assembly session.
The Government of the Republic of Serbia has been continuously cautioning that this was a problematic issue from the legal perspective, that the investor is not a credible one and has no financial and other necessary assets.
We recall that, as part of the plan to privatize the Brezovica Ski Centre, Pristina adopted a decision on expropriation of land and facilities, including the "Molika" hotel, the mountain house "Stojkova kuca" and ski lifts.
The Government of Serbia will continue to support actions aiming at finding the right legal remedy for the violence demonstrated by Pristina in its unilateral act of privatization of the Ski Centre. Namely, proceedings on this issue have been initiated by the "Fond Ineks Intereksport" before courts in Kosovo and Metohija, and "Skijalista Srbije" has announced that it would seek international arbitration regarding this issue.
Instead of Pristina's legal violence, the Government of Serbia will soon offer a solution to the issue of Brezovica in the form of an investment program which will offer parties interested in investing in the Ski Centre and other affairs in Kosovo and Metohija sufficient legal guaranties for safe investment.
