The European Union should prevail on Priština to implement the agreement on establishing the Community of Serbian Municipalities (CSM) in Kosovo, stated Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov today after meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dačić.
"Unfortunately, the rights of the Serbian population in Kosovo are violated on a daily basis while the EU facilitated agreement on establishing Serbian municipalities in Kosovo reached last August is sabotaged," Lavrov underlined.
He pointed out that the sabotaging of the practical application of the agreement does not elicit a consistent response from Brussels.
"That is a concern for us. We believe it is essential for the EU to confirm its reputation as an active facilitator and to prevail on Priština, so Kosovo leaders would put into practice what they signed," Lavrov stated.
