If in the next few weeks there are no concrete steps towards the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities (CSM), Serbian representatives will establish the Community in Kosovo and Metohija by themselves until Statehood Day (February 15, 2017), the head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djurić, announced today

Djurić

He told reporters that the issue of establishing the CSM was discussed today at the meeting between Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and the represetnatives of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija.

“We will not beg anyone for the implementation of what was agreed. If in the next few weeks there are no concrete steps towards the establishment of the CSM, Serbian representatives will, in agreement with their state, beginning with Statehood Day 2017, establish the Community by themselves”, Djurić said.

He said that Serbs will, by themselves, begin to agree on what CSM will look like, what will its jurisdictions be, they will begin creating the institutions that should be the prerequisite for the survival and preservation of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

As he added, all of this is done not with a wish to take away someone’s rights, for someone to have fewer rights due to the establishment of CSM, but for this community to become a reality, respecting all agreements.
