Director Đurić said that the Republic of Serbia continues to be vitally interested in the stability of the province and normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Priština, as well as in advancing the position of the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija.

Marko Đurić also informed the SRSG that the continuation of the political dialogue in Brussels is scheduled for 25 August, and stressed the importance of the full implementation of the First Agreement and establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija informed the Head of UNMIK about Belgrade's opposition to the self-proclaimed independent state of Kosovo's bid for membership in UNESCO. The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the withdrawal of the draft law on cultural heritage from the PISG Assembly in Priština.

The outgoing SRSG Farid Zarif, who paid a farewell visit as his term of office in Kosovo and Metohija is coming to an end, expressed satisfaction that the authorities in Belgrade and Priština seek to ameliorate the economic situation in Kosovo, the situation in the field of human rights, and to make progress in the fight against corruption.

Director Đurić thanked SRSG Farid Zarif for his constructive engagement during his tenure as the Special Representative of the UNSG and the head of UNMIK, and presented him with a parting gift, an exclusive monograph in English "Christian Heritage of Kosovo and Metohija".
