The head of Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dačić, said ahead of Monday's UN Security Council session on Kosovo and Metohija, that Serbia's position in Kosovo and Metohija has now been consolidated, adding that there can be no more pretexts for failures to implement the agreed from the dialogue between Belgrade and Prištia, and that Serbia and Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija are expecting that everything agreed would be implemented.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia said that the Serbian List contributed to the consolidation of the position of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija by its constructive behavior.
"Our position has been consolidated since, amid the infighting, instability and demonstrations, the Serbian List has acted very constructively, which was in our interest", he told Radio Belgrade before departing for New York, where he will be representing Serbia at the UN Security Council session on Kosovo and Metohija.
Dačić announced that he would point to all of the problems in Kosovo and Metohija, primarily as regards stability and the Kosovo authorities' failure to meet the obligations undertaken in the framework of the Brussels dialogue - in particular the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities - and all political problems affecting the situation of the Kosovo Serbs.
When asked whether the election of Hashim Thaci for Kosovo president will be on the agenda of the session, Dačić answered negatively, saying that the session would discuss the period covered by the UN Secretary General's report, but that it could be mentioned.
However, he pointed out that it is highly important for us that Priština authorities fulfill what they promised in Brussels.
"After everything that has happened in Kosovo, there are no more excuses that something cannot be implemented. Serbia and the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija expect that everything agreed will be implemented", Dačić said.
